Our Services
With Union Pictures, all the needs regarding animals are catered for.
We offer multiple, licensed trainers for every job. We also do casting, budgeting, and handling of the logistics for any production that we’re a part of. We offer our own holding and training area just outside of Cape Town, as well as our own animal transport. We can also supply camera safety cages, fencing, animal-related props, and vet services as needed.
We have a great working relationship with the Conservation Authorities as well as the Animal Welfare Associations. We’re registered members of the Animal Keepers Association of Africa (AKAA) and PAAZAB so we can arrange for all the permits required when working with our animals.
Also, if we don’t have the right animal onsite, we’ll be able to source the correct animals for you through our relationships with other trainers on both a national and international level.
The Studio
Our studio is 15x30x7 meters and offers direct 3 phase, 100 amps/phase power and a fixed lighting gird.
The floor slabs have drains so you do rain and other water effects without fear of flooding or electrical issues. It also offers a hard psych wall that you can colour as needed, with read side doors to bring the animals onto set without disturbing the camera and crew.
We also offer wardrobe/office and catering spaces and ablutions. There are also several game camps that are adjacent to the studio to hold working animals close to set.
Our Cottages
Studio work can take a while, so we’ve set up two cottages where crew can relax and kickback after a long day of filming. The cottages offer beautiful views of the surrounding farm and valley and you’re welcome to go for walks along the river, go horse riding or trout fishing, or simply enjoy the area from the patio.
Each cottage is fitted with a small kitchenette, beds and linen, a bathroom, lounge, and an outdoor patio area.
