In early 2007 Luke Cornell purchased a 140 ha farm one hour from Cape Town where he could create excellent living conditions for both his family and the animals he so loves to work with. His vision was to be able to offer a diverse range animals to the film and TV industry on a picturesque location where they are already settled and thus easy to work with. Luke’s belief that this would give directors more shooting time has been proven time and again over the years.
The farm offers 2,5km of permanently flowing wild river frontage, green irrigated flat pastures, wild renosterveld, rambling hills, ravines, streams, dams, cottages, the main house, barns, farm dressing / tractors, trailers, implements, dams and the full farmyard experience. The farm has two large separate game enclosures, one abutting the river that holds gemsbok, eland, fallow deer, impala, and another 4sq km wild section that has eland, impala, springbok, ostriches, rheebok, steenbok, tortoises and much more. Blue cranes nest on the farm, there are fish eagles, secretary birds and raptors in abundance.
Union Pictures are able to supply tractors / trailers / 4 wheelers / 4×4′s, earthmoving equipment. Union Pictures is open to set construction on most parts of the farm and as it is rurally zoned, pyrotechnics may also be used under supervision.
The studio has bathrooms, a lounge and kitchen, wardrobe and office rooms.
There are 3 furnished self catering cottages available for accommodation or for use as a production office / make-up / wardrobe centre.
